Due to really bad weather in Glasgow, I wrote you a little post about vegan barbecue that you can make in your house and pretend that this season is summer 😀🙈

If you like grilled mushrooms, corn on cob and flavoursome potatoes, give this article a go! Also *** do not miss this post *** if you want to know where to get the most amazing vegan (and not only) burgers in Glasgow for a very affordable price!

What I've been up to recently

As you probably know, I had my graduation last week and my parents were visiting me in Glasgow. We did so much stuff and visited so many places so I can't really sum up everything in one post. We even tried to climb up Ben Nevis (highest mountain in Scotland) but the weather was too poor and we managed only half of it --->

If you are patient, there will be articles about my Graduation day, Edinburgh and Jamie Oliver restaurant, Highlands and Loch Lomond.

So this week we are still celebrating graduation and yesterday I had a pleasure to visit one of the best burger place with my "library team". Because we all had burgers I though it would be quite appropriate to incorporate my burger review in this post since I'm writing about BBQs  😀🌱

For BBQ you will need:

  • 200g medium size mushrooms
  • 2 corn on cob
  • 1 bag (small) of little potatoes
  • some olive oil
  • some sweet chilli sauce
  • dry spring onions
  • some parsley
  • garlic powder
  • sea salt + pepper
  • (vegan burgers if you wish)

The Recipe

Picture
First of all you need to boil water for potatoes. Cook them for about 12-15 minutes. Meanwhile chop mushrooms and put them in a tin foil basket. Drizzle them with some sweet chilli sauce. Pop them and corn on cob in an oven for 15 minutes on 190C.

When your potatoes are done, chop them all in 4 pieces and place on a baking tray where your mushrooms and corns are. Finish with olive oil, salt, pepper, parsley, garlic and spring onions. Turn corns on cob, carefully stir mushrooms and put tray back for 20 more minutes. If you wish you can also cook some vegan burgers, but I was more than happy with tray contents and I didn't feel like having any extras.
When food is done, place it in plates/bowls and garnish for serving. Put some ketchup and sweet chilli sauce on the table as well. And here you go! Perfect vegan BBQ is ready to be eaten. You can do exactly same if the weather is good outside. The only difference will be that you need to wrap your potatoes and mushrooms in small tin foil parcels :) So enjoy and ... let's hope for better weather in Glasgow! 🙈

And now those wonderful burgers I mentioned

When my friend said to me that we are going to a place called Steak, Cattle and Roll I though she must be joking! "You... know I am vegan right?" I asked. "Yes, but look at their menu, they have a nice selections of vegan burgers and shakes!"

And they really do! I mean... Burgers are priced at £7-£9 and they are massive. Everything is home made, including sauces so you can have your one with vegan mayo, guacamole, cheese and things like that. Also, where else could you find VEGAN MILK SHAKE! It was 4 of us, and we had drinks, burger each, side dishes and deserts, and bill total was less than £80!

So if you are vegan (or not) and live in Glasgow, you must visit this place! And I must mention that service was top noch when we visited #BestGingerWaitress
